Tejashwi Yadav Slams BJP and Election Commission, Alleges Institutional Compromise

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Election Commission, accusing constitutional bodies of functioning under direct political influence. Speaking against the backdrop of intense political campaigns, Yadav intensified his criticism of the ruling center and its administrative apparatus, raising critical questions regarding institutional neutrality and electoral oversight.
Direct Attacks on the Election Commission
Tejashwi Yadav, taking a prominent role in the opposition's joint platform, targeted the Election Commission over voter roll revisions and administrative accountability. Flanked by top leaders, Yadav accused key electoral authorities of deploying opaque measures that disproportionately favor the ruling establishment.
"The sanctity of democratic institutions is being systematically eroded," Yadav charged, pointing to anomalies and lack of transparency during recent electoral roll verification drives. The RJD leader argued that independent authorities must remain entirely impartial, asserting that public faith in democratic exercises is severely damaged when regulatory bodies act as extensions of the ruling party.
Countering the BJP’s Campaign
The remarks came as a direct counter-offensive to the BJP’s nationwide "Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao" (Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy) campaign, which was rolled out to blunt opposition narratives of administrative misuse. Senior BJP leaders have aggressively defended their governance track record and accused opposition parties of attempting to destabilize constitutional bodies to cover up political irrelevance.
However, Yadav dismissed the BJP’s campaign as a rhetorical smokescreen. He alleged that the ruling coalition is deeply rattled by growing ground-level dissent and is preemptively trying to manage public optics. "They speak of protecting democracy while every state institution is co-opted to serve partisan interests," Yadav remarked.
Opposition Solidarity and Future Outlook
The intensification of rhetoric underlines a unified opposition strategy ahead of upcoming political milestones. By tying local administrative grievances in Bihar to a broader national debate on electoral accountability, the RJD hopes to keep the pressure on both the central government and the state NDA leadership. As opposition leaders continue to press for absolute transparency from the Election Commission, the political friction promises to remain a defining feature of the evolving electoral landscape.
