History
Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), commonly known as HAM(S), was formally launched on 8 May 2015 by former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi. The Election Commission recognised the party as a political party in July 2015. The party's election symbol is a wok. Bihar is its principal political base. HAM(S) has participated in Bihar Assembly and Lok Sabha politics and has been associated with different political alliances. The party has focused its political activities on social justice, representation of disadvantaged communities and development. It is currently associated with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar.
