Bihar to Begin Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls Starting November 12

The Election Commission of India is scheduled to launch a comprehensive Special Summary Revision (SSR) of electoral rolls across Bihar, initiating a crucial administrative process for voter registration, name corrections, and the removal of ineligible entries.
Key Details of the Revision Exercise
The special campaign is designed to ensure updated and error-free voter lists ahead of upcoming political milestones. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will be deployed across districts to facilitate door-to-door verifications and receive applications for new voter additions (Form 6), objections or deletions (Form 7), and corrections of particulars (Form 8).
District election authorities have instructed all political parties and booth-level agents to extend cooperation and assist citizens in verifying their names on the electoral rolls. Special camps will also be organized at designated polling stations on weekends to maximize public participation and make the registration process accessible.
Political Implications and Voter Awareness
With political dynamics heating up across the state, both ruling and opposition parties have placed immense focus on the electoral roll revision. Political organizations are gearing up to mobilize their grassroots cadres to ensure maximum enrollment of eligible young voters and supporters.
Citizens can check their enrollment status online through the National Voters' Service Portal (NVSP) or the Voter Helpline App, as well as offline through their respective district election offices. The administration has urged all eligible residents who turned 18 or missed previous cycles to make full use of the revision window.
