The Janata Dal (United) is preparing for an important meeting in Patna to review its disappointing performance in the Bihar Legislative Council elections, where it won only one of the four seats it contested. The defeat has exposed growing differences with NDA ally BJP, with JD(U) leaders questioning the party's election support and raising concerns over internal leadership equations involving Sanjay Kumar Jha, Lalan Singh and Nishant Kumar.

The JD(U) is reviewing its performance in the recent Bihar Legislative Council elections amid concerns over coordination with BJP allies, internal disagreements and questions surrounding the party's organisational leadership.

Bihar JD(U) president Umesh Singh Kushwaha has expressed concern after Independent MLCs Bansidhar Brajwasi and Rahul Raj extended support to the BJP following their victories in the Legislative Council elections. Both legislators had defeated JD(U)-backed candidates. The development has exposed tensions within the BJP-JD(U) alliance, with questions also emerging over election coordination and the anti-defection controversy.

Nishant Kumar has backed JD(U) candidate Neeraj Kumar in the Bihar Legislative Council elections, urging party workers to support the official NDA candidate as Anant Singh continues to campaign for Jan Suraaj nominee Anuj Singh.

Prashant Kishor has stepped up his attack on the JD(U) amid the ongoing Anant Singh-Neeraj Kumar dispute ahead of the Bihar Legislative Council elections, claiming that the party is being weakened and could eventually move closer to the BJP.
