BPSC 72nd Prelims

INDIA bloc leaders, including RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, have intensified protests over the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and alleged irregularities. The demonstrations have triggered a political exchange, with opposition parties demanding electoral safeguards and BJP leaders questioning their protests.

The Supreme Court has clarified that it has neither approved nor disapproved the modified Form 6 used by the Election Commission of India during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar. A three-judge bench led by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant issued notice on a fresh petition questioning the Election Commission's functioning and scheduled the matter alongside similar petitions listed for October 27.
