The Janata Dal (United) has announced plans to observe November 24 as Good Governance Day. The programme will mark 20 years since Nitish Kumar first became Bihar Chief Minister in 2005.

The Bihar Congress issued show-cause notices to 33 party functionaries after a group of leaders protested in Delhi and demanded changes in the state unit. The dispute brought internal differences over party leadership and organisation into public view.
