Party Discipline

Bihar’s NDA allies have expressed differing views on the Centre’s handling of a Delhi protest demanding Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation. While the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and Rashtriya Lok Morcha called for dialogue with young protesters, the Janata Dal (United) adopted a non-committal position, and the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) voiced support for the Centre.

Jan Suraaj Party founder and Bankipur MLA Prashant Kishor has described the deployment of 40,000 paramilitary personnel during a Delhi protest as evidence of its impact. Supporting the opposition's demand for Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar's resignation, Kishor said the Election Commission's credibility had come under serious scrutiny over the past eight to ten years.
