Bihar BSSC Paper Leak Case: Charges Framed Against 30 Accused
A special court in Patna has formally framed charges against 30 accused in the Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) question-paper leak case, according to a report published by Amar Ujala on October 13, 2026.
The accused include former BSSC secretary Parameshwar Ram and alleged question-paper supplier Anand Preet Singh Brar. Former commission chairman Sudhir Kumar is also named in the charge sheet filed in the case.
Accused Deny the Charges
During the court proceedings, the charges were read out to the accused present in court. They denied the allegations, following which the court directed the prosecution to present its evidence.
The case relates to the alleged leak of question papers for a BSSC combined competitive examination. According to the prosecution, the matter came to light in 2017 after police received information about the circulation of examination papers and conducted raids.
Investigators subsequently filed a charge sheet against 41 people under provisions of the Indian Penal Code and the Prevention of Corruption Act, as reported by Amar Ujala.
Case Had Faced Delays
The proceedings had remained pending for years, partly because an accused person was absent from the court process. During the latest hearing, the court separated the records of absent accused persons and formally framed charges against the 30 accused who were present.
The prosecution is now expected to present evidence as the trial proceeds.
Why the Case Matters
The BSSC paper leak case has drawn attention to examination security, recruitment transparency and accountability in public-sector selection processes in Bihar.
The framing of charges marks a procedural step in the criminal case; it does not establish the guilt of the accused. The allegations will be examined through the judicial process.
